Appointments, Cancelation and Rescheduling Guidelines

It is important that all your requested bloodwork and other ordered diagnostic tests are completed, and results are received before any follow-up visit.

Missed appointments and late (less than 24 business hours) cancelations will result in a finance charge. Please see a schedule of fees posted 

Patient Portal

All patient communications will be posted on your patient portal. This includes notes, results, statements and upcoming appointments. You may schedule, cancel or reschedule your appointments directly from the portal.

Insurance Coverage and Co Payments

The patient’s portion of payment for services is due in full at the time of service. For insurance coverage and co payment amounts see our fee schedule posted on our website. The insurance portion of payment request is sent to your heath insurance provider after your visit. Questions regarding your insurance coverage should be directed to your insurance provider. Declined payments from insurance payors are patient responsibility. Billing statements will be issued electronically (the cost of paper statements is $1).  Patient balances over 30 days will incur $5.00 late fee.  Delinquent accounts passed are transferred to the Collection/ Credit Agency.

Automatic Credit or Debit Card Payment Plan and BIM Privately Subsidized Clinic

An automatic credit or debit card payment plan is available to patients with balances over $100. Please check with our Front Desk staff or call our accounts department on 295 8999 ext. 235 to find out more.​​

Medications and Medications Administration Fees

We provide a list of injectable medications and vaccinations for our patients. Coverage for these medications varies depending on your insurance provider. In addition, medication administration fees apply. Please contact your respective insurance payor to determine the level of coverage for your injectables.​​

“COLABORATIVE” Laboratory services

COLABORATIVE lab services are conveniently located on premises and fully covered by major medical insurance providers (CG, Argus, BFM and GEHI). To inquire about HIP and Future Care coverage please call 295 9210. For GEHI coverage of labs, please call 279 2600.​​​

For your convenience and to facilitate collaboration with health providers regarding your care, all lab results will be uploaded to the BHB Pearl Electronic medical records system.

Bermuda Internal Medicine Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is meant to explain what personal information Bermuda Internal Medicine collects, why we collect it, how it is processed, and how you can update, manage, export, and delete your information.  â€‹

How do we store your data?

  • Bermuda Internal Medicine securely stores your data at 63 Victoria Street, Hamilton HM 12, Bermuda where our building is monitored by an alarm system.

  • All personal data is stored digitally in a HIPA-compliant, password protected database and password protected files.

  • We also manage the access of these files.

  • We retain data for 7 years after a patient has died or left the practice, as required by law.

  • After 7 years, confidential information is deleted from the server.

  • Hard copies of personal information are shredded and disposed of.

 

What are your data protection rights?

Bermuda Internal Medicine would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every patient is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access - you have the right to ask Bermuda Internal Medicine for copies of your personal information. This right always applies. We may charge a small fee for this service.

  • The right to rectification - you have the right to ask Bermuda Internal Medicine to correct any information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure - you have the right to ask us to erase your personal data, under certain circumstances.

  • The right to restrict processing - you have the right to request that Bermuda Internal Medicine  restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • The right to object to processing - you have the right to object to Bermuda Internal Medicine’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • Your right to data portability - you have the right to request that Bermuda Internal Medicine transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to under certain conditions.
